Hear a work by composer/performer Pamela Z who not only employs extended vocal techniques, but works with a lot of electronics. Listen to the work, “The Schmetterling” for voice and electronics, samples (BodySynth™ and keyboard), and the Bang on a Can All-Stars from the 2018 People’s Commissioning Fund Concert. Then, listen to composer and violinist Jenny Scheinman and her band, Mischief and Mayhem in an instrumental ode to PJ Harvey.

Listen to vocal works by pianist and harpist Alice Coltrane Turiyasangitananda, from a compilation of private recordings made in the 1970s of her hybrid of Hindu chants and Detroit roots music. Also, hear a cover of a Nick Drake song from Norwegian vocalist Susanna Wallumrød and Swiss baroque harpist Giovanna Pessi.
